Before you start
Download Uurly only from your account page on uurly.io. Each file there has a SHA-256 fingerprint; checking it takes a minute and tells you the file is exactly the one we published.
Uurly isn't signed by Apple or Microsoft yet, so your computer warns you once, the first time you open it. The steps below show what you'll see and what to click. You only do this once.
Mac
For macOS 13 (Ventura) or newer. Pick the file for your Mac: Apple silicon (M1 and newer) or Intel. Not sure? Apple menu → About This Mac shows the chip.
01Drag Uurly to Applications
Open the downloaded file (it ends in .dmg). A window opens with the Uurly app and the Applications folder. Drag Uurly onto Applications, then close the window.

02Open Uurly and click Done
Open Uurly from Applications. macOS says it couldn't verify the app. Click Done. The blue button is Move to Trash (Move to Bin on some Macs): don't click that one.

03Allow it in Privacy & Security
Open System Settings → Privacy & Security and scroll down to Security. Next to “Uurly” was blocked to protect your Mac, click Open Anyway.
Don't see Open Anyway? It shows for about an hour after step 2. If it's gone, open Uurly from Applications once more, click Done, and look again.
04Confirm with Touch ID or your password
macOS asks once more. Click Open Anyway and confirm with Touch ID or your Mac password. Uurly opens, and from now on it opens like any other app.
05Allow the keychain when Uurly asks
The first time Uurly opens your wallet, macOS asks whether Uurly may use its keychain item. Type your Mac password and choose Always Allow. Choose Deny and Uurly can't open your wallet until you allow it.
macOS 13 or 14? There you can also Control-click Uurly in Applications, choose Open and then Open again. From macOS 15 on, only the Privacy & Security route above works.
Windows
For Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit.
01Open the setup file
Open the downloaded file. Its name starts with Uurly and ends in setup.exe, for example Uurly-0.9.18-setup.exe.
02Click More info, then Run anyway
Windows shows a blue Windows protected your PC screen. Click More info; the screen then shows the file name and Unknown publisher. Click Run anyway.
03Follow the installer
Click through the installer. Start Uurly from the Start menu or the desktop shortcut.
Linux
For Ubuntu 22.04 or newer and similar distributions. Pick the AppImage for your processor: x86_64 for Intel and AMD, aarch64 for ARM.
01Allow the file to run
In your file manager: right-click the AppImage → Properties → Allow executing file as program. Or in a terminal: chmod +x ~/Downloads/Uurly-*-x86_64.AppImage.
02Open it
Double-click the AppImage, or start it from the terminal. Nothing needs to be installed system-wide.
Doesn't start? On Ubuntu 22.04 and newer an AppImage needs FUSE 2: sudo apt install libfuse2 (on Ubuntu 24.04: libfuse2t64).
Check your download
Your account page shows a SHA-256 fingerprint next to each file. Compute the fingerprint of the file you downloaded and compare: it must match character for character. If it doesn't, don't open the file and tell us.
- Mac, in Terminal:
shasum -a 256 ~/Downloads/Uurly-0.9.18-arm64.dmg - Windows, in PowerShell:
Get-FileHash $env:USERPROFILE\Downloads\Uurly-0.9.18-setup.exe - Linux, in a terminal:
sha256sum ~/Downloads/Uurly-0.9.18-x86_64.AppImage
Use the name of the file you actually downloaded. Updates installed from inside Uurly are checked for you.

FAQ
Why does my computer warn me about Uurly?
Uurly is signed with its own certificate, not yet with one from Apple or Microsoft. Your computer only knows the publishers Apple and Microsoft vouch for, so it asks you to confirm the first time you open the app.
Is it safe to click Open Anyway or Run anyway?
Only for a file you downloaded from your account page on uurly.io whose SHA-256 fingerprint matches the one shown there. A matching fingerprint means the file is exactly the one we published.
Do I have to do this again for every update?
No. You do it once. Later versions come through the updater inside Uurly, which checks each update's fingerprint and signature before it installs it.
I clicked Move to Trash by mistake. What now?
Download Uurly again from your account page, drag it to Applications and start again at step 2. Nothing of yours was lost.
The Linux AppImage doesn't start. What can I do?
Check that the file is allowed to run (chmod +x, or Properties → Allow executing file as program). On Ubuntu 22.04 and newer, install FUSE 2: sudo apt install libfuse2, or libfuse2t64 on Ubuntu 24.04.
